Monthly Archives: February 2013

Back next week!

We at Write2Help have enjoyed our winter hiatus, but it’s time to get back to work. Next time: The follow up to last month’s post, “The Hokey Yogi.” Until then, ponder this: The French language has no way to distinguish between a person’s “mind” and her “brain.” So to ask someone “What’s on your mind?” you must say, “Qu’est-ce qui est dans votre esprit?” (Literally: What’s in your spirit?) In other words, English has more synonyms than any other language. (The Mother Tongue: English and How It Got That Way, by Bill Bryson.)
